    Three Chemical Product-Related Subsidiaries Merge

    Three consolidated subsidiaries of Toyota Tsusho Corporation (Headquarters: Nagoya City; President: Junzo Shimizu) engaged in the domestic sale of chemical products and synthetic resins in Japan, Tomen Chemical Co., Ltd., (hereinafter referred to as "Tomen Chemical"; Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Koji Hatano), Tomen Plastics Corporation, (hereinafter referred to as "Tomen Plastics"; Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroshi Hosokawa) and TOYOTSU PLACHEM CORPORATION (hereinafter referred to as "Toyotsu Plachem"; Headquarters: Nagoya City; President: Tokuji Kitamura), have made a joint decision to merge on April 1, 2009, and to adopt the company name of TOYOTSU CHEMIPLAS CORPORATION (hereinafter referred to as "Toyotsu Chemiplas").
    • Purpose of merger
    Up to the present, the three companies, Tomen Chemical, Tomen Plastics, and Toyotsu Plachem, have been undergoing steady progress by pioneering new markets, offering optimum solutions, and exhibiting efficient operating capacities in areas such as logistics,  in dealing with a wide range of customers from automotive and non-automotive industries.

    The aim of this merger is for the three companies to offer their respective functional strengths to each other's customers and product groups, in order to provide a more evolved and wider range of services. Furthermore, their business domains, information collecting capabilities, and organizational abilities will become magnified through this consolidation, enabling the company to carry out aggressive overseas development and business investment, with the intention of becoming a top-ranking trading company specializing in chemical products and synthetic resins.

    The new Toyotsu Chemiplas will further strengthen its cooperation with Toyota Tsusho, and will make every effort to become a value-generating company that contributes to society through the promotion of high-value-added business.
