Vienna, 18 November 2009 In April 2008, STRABAG SE, CEE’s (Central and Eastern Europes) largest construction group, had acquired the Swedish construction company ODEN Anläggningsentreprenad AB. Now the restructuring of the specialist for infrastructure projects has been finalised successfully.

STRABAG CEO Hans Peter Haselsteiner is happy with the development of ODEN: “For STRABAG, the acquisition of ODEN represented the Group’s entry onto the Scandinavian market. With our support with capital and know-how ODEN could be restructured successfully. Now we aim to further grow in Scandinavia.”

Today, STRABAG presented its new CEO for Scandinavia, Mats O. Paulsson. The long-time civil engineer and specialist for infrastructure and industry has previously been employed for 16 years by Skanska and the last 10 years by PEAB where he was the CEO of PEAB Industry AB and before that deputy CEO responsible for Civil, Infrastructure and Industry in PEAB AB.

With 450 employees, ODEN is expected to generate a revenue of € 130 million in the financial year 2009. The Stockholm-based company generates about 60 % of its revenue in transportation infrastructures and 30 % in the field of tunneling. Züblin Scandinavia which is specialized in ground engineering is also part of the Scandinavian organization of STRABAG.
