On 24 August 2000, Kesko’s Supervisory Board made a decision to incorporate Kesko’s profit divisions responsible for goods trading in various sectors. According to plan, the new companies responsible for the food trade and the home and speciality goods trade will start operations on 1 April 2001, and the companies responsible for the hardware and builders’ supplies trade and the agricultural trade on 1 October 2001.
Deputy Chief Executive Kalervo Haapaniemi was appointed as the Managing Director and Vice President Harri Sivula as the Deputy Managing Director of Kesko Food, responsible for food trading. In addition, Vice President Matti Laamanen and Vice President Riitta Laitasalo were appointed to the Board of Directors. CEO Matti Honkala will act as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Executive Vice President Matti Halmesmäki was appointed as the Managing Director and Director Simo Manner as the Deputy Managing Director of Kesko Hardware, responsible for the trade in hardware and builders’ supplies. In addition, Executive Vice President Jouko Tuunainen and Chief Financial Officer Juhani Järvi were appointed to the Board of Directors. CEO Matti Honkala will act as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Executive Vice President Matti Halmesmäki was appointed as the Managing Director and Director Kimmo Vilppula as the Deputy Managing Director of Kesko Agro, responsible for agricultural and machinery trading. In addition, Director Erkki Sillantaka and Director Paavo Rönkkö were appointed to the Board of Directors. CEO Matti Honkala will act as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Vice President Matti Laamanen was appointed as the Managing Director of Keswell, responsible for the trade in home and speciality goods. In addition, Deputy Chief Executive Kalervo Haapaniemi, Vice President Heikki Valkjärvi and Director Anne Leppälä-Nilsson were appointed to the Board of Directors. CEO Matti Honkala will act as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
KESKO’S EXECUTIVE TEAM APPOINTED
An Executive Team will be established in the Kesko Group, with its members representing the company’s top management. The following persons were appointed to the Team: Deputy Chief Executive Kalervo Haapaniemi, Executive Vice President Jouko Tuunainen, Executive Vice President Matti Halmesmäki, Chief Financial Officer Juhani Järvi, Vice President Matti Laamanen, Director Erkki Heikkinen and Vice President Riitta Laitasalo.
