PALFINGER PUBLISHES ITS FIRST INTEGRATED ANNUAL REPORT
Truly embracing sustainability and social responsibility as part of corporate strategy and core business
Material core issues and key indicators integrated into internal and external reporting in a holistic manner
PALFINGER is a pioneer among Austria’s publicly listed companies
Today the publicly listed PALFINGER AG has published an integrated annual report for the first time. It not only presents the economic and legal information relating to the Group for 2013 but also systematically incorporates all the material sustainability aspects in accordance with the current G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
Herbert Ortner, CEO of PALFINGER AG, reaffirms his commitment to the new reporting approach: “Thinking and acting sustainably has become an essential part of our strategy and core business. We are fully convinced that this is also conducive to our strategic goal of achieving sustainable, profitable growth. Therefore, it was only logical to report ecological and social operations that have already been implemented within the Company in an integrated manner.”
PALFINGER has broken down its integrated sustainability management along the lines of the following main issues:
- Fair business,
- Responsible employer,
- Eco-efficiency in production, and
- Sustainable products
To date, a separate sustainability report was prepared and published every two years. In line with its commitment to continuous further development, PALFINGER has taken the proactive decision from now on to reflect the Company’s endorsement of sustainability in its internal and external reporting. All material sustainability aspects have been fully integrated into the report; detailed information on core sustainability issues that exceeded the scope of the report is available online or may be downloaded from PALFINGER’s website. Hence, the report and the information on the website supplement each other.
The Integrated Annual Report 2013 published by the PALFINGER Group is in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the international Sustainability Reporting Guidelines GRI-G4 (“Core”). Moreover, it contains the Progress Report for the UN Global Compact. “Once again, PALFINGER is leading the field. We have not only combined economic and sustainability issues, but literally inscribed them into our corporate DNA, and we are communicating the fact in a forward-looking manner via our reporting. We are the first publicly listed company in Austria to do this,” emphasizes Ortner, not without some pride.
Printed copies will be available from 5 March 2014 onwards.
